Frank Craska has been promoted and named the next Head Coach of Caltech Baseball, replacing outgoing coach Kevin Whitehead.
"I am thrilled to be named the next Head Baseball Coach at Caltech. This opportunity would not have been possible without Kevin Whitehead and his tireless efforts for the program during his tenure. A special thanks to Kevin and our department for believing in me as a coach," Craska said.
Craska is entering his second year with the program, having been named Assistant Coach in August 2024. Under his guidance and that of Whitehead, Caltech tied its program record with 10 regular-season wins, and defeated No. 11 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for the first time in program history.
Craska has a strong pitching background, having hurled 80 innings in his collegiate career and compiling a 4-2 record during his final two seasons witch Quinnipiac University. In his first year with Caltech, Craska played an instrumental role in the development of the pitching staff, seeing Caltech set records for team ERA and strikeouts in his first year with the program. The Beavers also had three complete-game efforts on the mound under Craska's coaching last season.
"Caltech is a special place in which our student-athletes put in tremendous efforts in the classroom and on the field. I look forward to building on the foundation of previous years in which this program has continued to grow and take exponential strides in the SCIAC," Craska said. "I could not be more excited for what's to come."
