PASADENA (Oct. 26, 2019) – Junior Krystyna Maruszko (Redondo Beach, Calif. / Marymount) of the Caltech volleyball team nearly picked up her first triple-double of the season when the Beavers hosted California Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon.

The third-year player posted a 9-24-11 line between kills, assists and digs and played an important role in the Beavers nearly getting the better of the Regals in the third set. Both teams went neck-and-neck all the way up until the finals points with the home team getting the first chance at a set point at 24-23 thanks to a service ace from senior Alexa Lauinger (Ortonville, Mich. / Brandon). Alongside, sophomore Hannah Fan (Saratoga, Calif. / Saratoga) picked up nine kills while senior Lauren Li (Bellaire, Texas / Bellaire) led the way with 10 kills. While four different Beavers registered at least 10 digs, sophomore libero Megan Wang (Henderson, Nev. / Advanced Technologies Academy) led with 15 digs.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will next look to make it a season sweep at Whittier College on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
