PASADENA, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2015) – Senior Harinee Maiyuran (Irvine, Calif. / Arnold O. Beckman) nearly posted a double-double with nine digs and her fourth straight double-digit assists performance for Caltech volleyball versus No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Friday night.

The Athenas claimed a 3-0 victory to improve to 17-4 overall and 7-2 in the SCIAC while the Beavers drop to 2-16 (0-11).

CMS sprinted out to an 18-3 lead in the opening set and overcame an 8-3 Beavers run to close it out, 25-12.  Another early 11-3 lead portended an identical score line in the second set and it was all Caltech could do to stage a late 7-3 rally in the third before succumbing, 25-16.

Maiyuran assisted on 12 of the Beavers' 14 kills and tied with senior Cat Jamshidi (Burke, Va. / Lake Braddock Secondary School) for the squad high in digs (nine).  Jamshidi added eight kills and three service aces while senior Amarise Little (Orlando, Fla. / Freedom) tallied three blocks for the fifth time this season.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will cross the 110 Freeway to take on Occidental College (8-10, 4-6) on Saturday, Oct. 17.
