PASADENA, Calif. -- La Sierra put together a well balanced offensive attack en route to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-7) win over Caltech on Tuesday evening in a non-conference women's volleyball match-up.
La Sierra came into the match having one of the best winning percentage among all NAIA teams, upped its record to 14-1. Caltech fell to 0-14.
The Golden Eagles got at least one kill from nine different players. The duo of Samantha Arriaran and Maselina Semaia each tallied a team best seven kills while both producing a .700 hitting percentage on 10 attempts and no errors.
Arriaran put together an all around effort as she led the team in assists (21) and digs (8) as well.
After the visitors hit .222 in the first set, they started clicking on all cylinders in the final two sets. During the second set La Sierra had 11 kills on 26 attempts with just one error for a .385 hitting mark. The Golden Eagles put together 13 kills on 19 attempts with just one error for a .632 hitting percentage in the clinching set.
The Beavers will travel north to face Mills and Pacific Union later this week.
