Track and Field Release 2016 Schedule

PASADENA, Calif. (Dec. 10, 2015) – The Caltech track and field teams have announced their schedule for the 2016 season.  Head Coach Ben Raphelson's squad opens the season with the annual Caltech All-Comers Meet on Feb. 6 and will host the SCIAC Championships on April 29-30 at Occidental College.

Caltech begins the year with its annual slate of tune-ups with the Caltech All-Comers Meet on Saturday, Feb. 6 and will then take part in the Alyssa Sialaris Memorial Throws, Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers and 20th Annual Rossie Relays each of the following weeks leading up to the first SCIAC Multi-Dual of the season.  The Beavers will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, the University of La Verne and Chapman University on Saturday, Mar. 5 at Occidental College.

The squad bookends Spring Break with appearances at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Sprints Festival on Mar. 11 and the Pt. Loma Collegiate Invitational on Mar. 26 before the second SCIAC Multi-Dual on Saturday, Apr. 2, when Pomona-Pitzer Colleges host Caltech and Cal Lutheran University.  The Beavers enjoyed one of their best overall performances last year at the second Multi-Dual and the men's team followed that up two weeks later with its first dual meet victory since 2011.

The Beavers then compete at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational ahead of the final SCIAC Multi-Dual on Apr. 16 against Occidental, Whittier College and host University of Redlands.  An as-yet undetermined Invitational will then precede the SCIAC Championships, a two-day, all-day event hosted by Caltech at Occidental on Apr. 29 and 30.

With conference competition concluded, a select few Beavers will continue to compete with an eye toward qualifying for the NCAA Championships or significant personal and program milestones.  Opportunities will include the Adidas/Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine on May 7, the Occidental last Chance Invitational on May 14 and the Redlands Last Chance Invitational May 19-20.
