PASADENA, Calif. -- The Caltech track and field team hosted their only SCIAC meet of the season Saturday afternoon as they hosted Cal Lutheran, the University of Redlands and Whitter.
Highlighting the day for the home squad was a handful of Beavers setting P.R.'s while mvoing up the school's all-time top 10 list.
The women's squad was nudged out by Whittier by a small margin as the Beavers fell nine team points short of pulling off the victory.
Sarah Wright moved up to fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 104'03". The junior improved her previous best by nearly eight feet as she finished third overall in the event on Saturday. Wright also improved her hammer throw from 82'2.25" to 85'5.75" during the meet.
In her final home meet, senior Jessica Swallow set her collegiate best in the high jump (5' 1.75"). During the triple jump competition, Swallow finished second overall by just four inches in jumping 33'11.75".
Brice Nzeukou fell just short of the school record in the javelin event. The junior threw 161'7.25" which was less than 10 inches away from the school record set 14 years ago.
