Scoring and Format
Preliminary Diving Meet Format
All SCIAC competitors will complete six optional dives, including one from each of the five groups, in any order, without limit on degree of difficulty. Upon completion of the sixth dive, the Top 8 SCIAC finishers will complete five additional, voluntary dives, including one from each of five groups, in any order, with total degree of difficulty not to exceed 9 (1 Meter) or 9.5 (3 Meter). NCAA Rules apply.
Each institution will be responsible for providing one judge for all dates of competition. There will be a total of nine judges, with five scores submitted with the two high and two low dropped on each dive. The coach of the student-athlete diving will not participate in the scoring for that particular dive. All seven scores will be entered into the Meet Manager computer system, which will automatically remove both the highest two and lowest two scores, resulting in a score calculated by utilizing the remaining three scores and the degree of difficulty.
*The same judging and scoring system will be in place for the finals competition so each school must provide a judge whether they have a diver in the competition or not.
Results will be posted on this page as well as the Caltech schedule page as results are completed and provided by the judges.
The NCAA Qualifying marks for 11 dives –
MEN – 425 (1 Meter), 440 (3 Meter)
