PASADENA, Calif. – On Saturday afternoon the Pomona-Pitzer swimming/diving squad beat Caltech in both the men's and women's meets. The Sagehens won the men's meet 178-61 and tallied a 171-64 win in the women's meet.
The Caltech divers put on another good performance as the Beavers won the one- and three-meter competition in both the men's and women's events. Justin Johnson won the one-meter (227.40) and three-meter (224.50) by a combined 11.90 points over Tyler Oe. Wade Hann-Caruthers finished third in both diving events.
During the women's events Jessica Swallow scored 143.10 in the one-meter and 154.50 in the three-meter to bring home 18 total points for the Beavers. She nudged out teammate Peggy Allen in each of the events by just a few points.
In the swimming events Christian Rivas had the best individual finish for the Beavers by placing second in the 100 yard breast stroke with a time of 1:05.41. Rivas got two points for Caltech in the 400 yard IM (5:02.01) as well.
Chris Hallacy helped bring home five points for Caltech. He finished third in 50 yard freestyle (23.82) and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle (55.02).
Hanna Dodd earned four points for Caltech with her swims in the 50 yard freestyle (28.52) and 100 yard backstroke (1:17.52).
Another highlight for the women's squad was captain Caitlin Regan setting a person best time of 1:10.20 during the butterfly leg of the 400 yard medley relay.
