THOUSAND OAKS, CA – The fifth ranked Cal Lutheran men's water polo team started strong en route to a 19-7 win over Caltech on Wednesday evening.
The Kingsmen came out of the game with a burst of goals. The home squad posted a 6-1 scoring edge in the game's first eight minutes of action. Caltech put three goals on the board in the second period but the offensive effort from Cal Lutheran was in full force as they put a five-spot on the scoreboard as Cal Lutheran went up 11-4 at intermission.
Each team's defense played well in third quarter but the home squad still found a way to score one more than Caltech. The Kingsmen took a 13-5 lead into the final quarter.
A relentless offensive charge continued from Cal Lutheran has they closed the game with a 6-2 scoring advantage.
Spencer McGrath and Graham Jameson each scored four goals to pace the Cal Lutheran performance.
The Beavers hosts Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. as they come down the stretch of the season.
