PASADENA (Nov. 7, 2019) – Senior midfielder Theo Yang (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) of the Caltech men's soccer team has been named to the Academic All-District team, selected by CoSIDA, for a second consecutive season.
The chemical engineering major managed a 3.96 GPA for a slight improvement on last year's Academic All-District appearance. As an All-District honoree, Yang will progress to the national Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in early December.
Yang's presence in the midfield helped the injury-riddled Beavers to their first five-point SCIAC season since 1987, a success by all measures. The co-captain had one goal and three assists in his final season with the team, and finishes his 68-game career with three goals and four assists while having started in every game.
The 2019 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
