PASADENA, Calif. (October 10, 2015) – Junior J.D. Feist (Richardson, Texas / Jesuit College Prep) made several acrobatic plays to record nine saves as the Caltech men's soccer team lost to SCIAC rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers dip to 0-10 (0-10) overall while the Stags improve to 5-4-3 (5-3-2).
The CMS offense came ready to play, attacking the Beavers defense right from the start. Before the six-minute mark, the Stags had put two shots on goal, but Feist was able to block both. Caltech held off the furious onslaught until the 13th minute, when CMS scored their first goal. Less than four minutes later, the Stags scored again to improve the lead to 2-0. After the second goal, the Beavers' defense stepped up and kept the Stags scoreless for the rest of the half.
The back line held firm to start the second half, but in the 55th minute the Stags scored again and did not look back, netting three more goals before the end the game for the 6-0 win. Senior Theodore Wilkening (Bowie, Md. / Elen) and freshman Tristan Née (Dallas, Texas / R.L. Turner) each recorded one shot on target for the Beavers.
Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will host Whittier College (3-4-3, 3-3-2) on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.
