REDLANDS, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2015) – Senior Theodore Wilkening (Bowie, Md. / Elen) took his team-leading goal tally to four as the Caltech men's soccer team fell, 9-1, at the University of Redlands on Monday night.
The Bulldogs improve to 8-2-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the SCIAC while the Beavers drop to 0-9 (0-9).
Redlands scored on the first shot of the game at the three-minute mark and never looked back, netting five more before halftime. Wilkening's strike came in the 75th minute on a rebound following a shot on target by junior Kevin Gao (Los Alamos, N.M. / Los Alamos). Junior J.D. Feist (Richardson, Texas / Jesuit College Prep) made four saves in 81 minutes of work and freshman Nikhil Gupta (Herndon, Va. / Thomas Jefferson Science & Tech.) stopped three shots in nine minutes while allowing just one goal for the second straight game.
Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (3-4-3, 3-3-2) on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m.
