Beaver Harriers Open the Season Strong

REDLANDS, Calif. -- Both the men's and women's team competed well at their season opening meet at the Redland Invitational.

During the women's race Stephanie Reynolds improved her time by nearly two minutes from the same race last season. The sophomore cross the finish line in 18:36 after running 20:24 in 2011. Not far behind her was first-year harrier Rachel Thorp who clipped the tape in 19:04. Juliette Becker completed the 4.5k course in 19:18 which was a 28 second improvement from her time last year.

Marlyn Moore posted a 44 second improved by crossing the finish line in 20:11 while Trisha Guchait rounded out the top five runners with a time of 21:27.

On the men's side first-year runner Aditya Bhagavathi took top honors with a time of 20:15. Alex Pien nudged out teammate Andy Zucker to take second best honors among Beaver harriers. Pien ran the 6K course in 20:43 while Zucker was three seconds behind him.

Juan Adame completed the race in 20:54. Alexander Anemogiannis was the fifth runner to complete the course for Caltech with a time of 21:20.
