PASADENA (Apr. 12, 2017) – Senior utilities Mary Boyajian (Sun Valley, Calif. / Village Christian) and Sasha Zemsky (Mount Kisco, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) played their final home game for the Caltech women's water polo team on Saturday. The team honored the duo with a Senior Day ceremony prior to the Beavers' SCIAC game against Occidental College.
When it came time for the game, Boyajian made sure to find the back of the net on more than one occasion. She scored her first goal with just over three minutes to go in the second quarter before scoring again in the second quarter. The Beavers held their ground with the Tigers early and sophomore Brittany Percin (Lake Tahoe, Calif. / Stanford Online), Caltech's leading scorer opened scoring for both teams with a quick goal just over one minute into the game. Her second goal also opened scoring for both teams in the second quarter, as the Beavers had their best moments inside the first half. Percin and Boyajian each fired 10 total shots on net. Zemsky, meanwhile picked up an assist in the final home game of her career.
Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will head to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges for their final game of the season on Saturday, Apr. 15.
