Volleyball Pushes Sagehens in Third Set

CLAREMONT, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2018) – Caltech volleyball received strong contributions from freshmen Alexandra Frymire (Dallas, Texas / Greenhill) and Alison Noyes (Falmouth, Maine / Falmouth) at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Wednesday evening.

Frymire picked up seven kills, 14 assists, three service aces and two assisted blocks while Noyes led the visitors with three assisted blocks in addition to seven kills. Caltech's 10 assisted blocks are a single-game best thus far in 2018. The Beavers hung with the Sagehens and picked up 19 points in each of the first two sets, but had their greatest success in the third set and even had the home team at set-point, 24-23.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will return home this Friday for a 7 p.m. SCIAC encounter with California Lutheran University.
