Volleyball Competitive with Chapman Saturday

PASADENA (Sept. 12. 2018) – A shorthanded Caltech volleyball team remained competitive with 10-1 Chapman University on Saturday, playing its second match in as many days.

Freshman setter Alexandra Frymire (Dallas, Texas / Greenhill) posted an all-around stat line for the Beavers, with six kills, 11 assists and four digs while maintaing a team-best .250 kill percentage. Junior outside hitter Lauren Li (Bellaire, Texas / Bellaire), meanwhile once again led the Beavers with eight kills and classmate Ellie Walker (Minneapolis, Minn. / Blake School) paced her side with 12 assists off the bench. Caltech's biggest moments came in the second set, where the hosts had the visiting Panthers at nine-all and managed to rack up 10 more points down the stretch.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will next travel to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Tuesday, Sept. 18 for their third SCIAC match of the season.
