Shorthanded Volleyball Battles at Whittier

WHITTIER, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2018) – The Caltech women's volleyball team made its 2018 SCIAC debut on Friday evening at Whittier College.

Freshman Alison Noyes (Falmouth, Maine / Falmouth) and junior Lauren Li (Bellaire, Texas / Bellaire) each had eight kills and five digs, while freshman libero Megan Wang (Henderson, Nev. / Advanced Technologies Academy) led the Caltech defensive effort with 16 digs. A competitive third set saw the Beavers leading the Poets as late into the match as 15-14 before the two teams traded points nearly all the way to the finish. Caltech had its most success in this frame, managing a 4:1 kill-error ratio.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will open at home on Saturday, Sept. 15 against Chapman University at 2 p.m.
