VOLLEYBALL

Wednesday night the Caltech Women's Volleyball hit pay dirt with their first victory of the season.  The Beavers knocked off the visiting Lady Lions of La Sierra by a convicing 3-1.  "The team really put it all together tonight" exclaimed head coach Kristen Sutherland.  Sutherland took over the head coaching reins in mid-season and has done an amazing job bringing the team along.  Leading the way for the Beav's statistically were Katie Peters with 18 kills, Teri Juarez with 13 kills, Lisa Yee with 11 kills and 16 digs.  Libero Ying Ying Tran posted 12 digs.

Caltech continued their short hiatus from SCIAC play as they headed to Lancaster, CA for the West Coast Baptist College tournament.  The Beav's fell to host West Coast Baptist on 10/16 by a score of 3-1 and then came back and knocked off Multnomah Univ. (OR) by a score of 3-0 to split at the tourney.  Caltech will then return to SCIAC play on 10/20 when they host the powerhouse Leopards of the University of La Verne on 10/21.
