Davis Barely Misses NCAA Provisional Qualification
With two days of competition complete senior hepthlete, Rene
Davis fell just 11 points short of the provisional qualifying mark
of 4100 points for the NCAA National Championships. Coach Julie
Levesque and Rene went to a "last chance" meet contested at North Central College in Naperville, IL.
(The women's outdoor heptathlon consists of the seven events,
with the first four contested on the first day, and the remaining
three on day two.) Davis had competed in two hepthalons
earlier this season, her first was in March at Cal State Northridge
scoring 3437 points and the second a was two weeks ago at
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges scoring 3982 points. As the
senior multi-sport athlete made a valiant effort, her Caltech
career comes to a close.
