Multi Duals Action: Women Beat LaVerne and Men Beat Whittier

The men's and women's track teams traveled to the University of Redlands for the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet.  Both teams each came away with one victory each.  The men beat Whittier College, 85-74 and the women beat the University of LaVerne, 99-58. 

Highlights on the women's side include many personal records and improvements to the Caltech All Time Top 10 list.  Senior Captain Katherine Breeden had a 10 second PR in the 1500m (5:06.76) and moved up to the #5 spot on the all time list.  Junior Sierra Petersen had a great race in the 800m (2:29.78) and moved up to the #3 spot on the all time list.  Freshman Perrin Considine ran a PR in the 3000mSC (13:46.40) and moved up to the #3 spot on the all time list.  Senior's Elette Boyle and Rene Davis had great meets and were the points getters for the Beavers for that victory against LaVerne.  Boyle competed in 6 events and Davis competed in 11 events.

On the men's side, Senior Captain Matt Kiesz placed 2nd in the 1500m (4:04.72) and in the 800m (1:58.89).  Kiesz still has the fastest time in SCIAC with a time of (3:58.71) Freshman Alex Lapides improved on his 400m (51.15)and is now #8 in SCIAC along with his #2 ranking in HJ (6'4"). Zack Higbee had a great day getting many points for the Beavers by competing in 5 events.

Both teams have the weekend (4/19) off and will be getting ready for the last team meet of the '08 season, the SCIAC Championships at CMS on 4/25 & 4/26.
