Caltech Athletics : Kiesz Runs Sub 3:55 to Provisionally Qualify for NCAA's

Just two weeks after a trip to the top step of the podium and a conference championship in the 1500m at the 2008 SCIAC Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships, Matt Kiesz shaved over 10 seconds off of his SCIAC Championship time to run a 3:54.47 at the Occidental Invitational today. Matt's sub 3:55 mark places him within the NCAA Championships provisional qualifing time (3:55.60) and puts him at number 21 in all NCAA Division III going into the final week of the track and field season. Coach Julie Levesque stated "it was a very exciting race with Matt running with some very high caliber athletes at Oxy, Matt got boxed in mid-race and still managed to finish strong and with a PR".
