ORANGE, CA – The Caltech swimming team competed in their last dual meet of the season with a competition at Chapman.
The Beavers posted a win in the men's meet 106-67 while Chapman recorded a 133-42 win in the women's meet. The meet was swim only as no divers competed.

A deeper Caltech men's team posted a handful of first place finishes in helping them post the team win. Teammates Boyu Fan and Kevin Yu dueled it out in the 1000 yard freestyle with Fan taking the win with a time of 12:59.30.
The trio of David Flicker, Matthew Cedeno and Yu competed in the 100 yard butterfly with Flicker posting the top time of 55.26. Similarly in the 100 yard backstroke the Beaver threesome of Matt Lappin, Justin Koch and Jim Blackwood face-off with Lappin's time of 1:03.82 earning the first-place finish.
Tommy Kwong won the 100 yard breastroke event in his final regular season competition. The senior swam the race in 1:05.33. In the final event the men's 200 yard freestyle relay team of Jack Blackwood, CJ Culpepper, Cedric Flamant and Patric Eck won in 1:36.28.
During the women's competition Jacqueline Masehi-Lano won the 50 yard freestyle sprint with a time of 25.81. Rachel Moore won the 100 yard freestyle race in 57.08 in her final regular season meet.
Alexandria Ilic posted a solid time of 12:37.12 as the only lady competing in the 1000 yard freestyle.
While both teams are member of the SCIAC, the meet will not count in the standings. Earlier this season the squad competed in their SCIAC meet at Caltech.
