PASADENA, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer men's water polo team posted an 18-6 win over Caltech on Saturday night in a SCIAC match-up.
The Sagehens, who came into the game ranked third in the nation, used a solid second quarter and played solid defense en route to the win.
Pomona-Pitzer scored the game's first three goals before a Jim Blackwood tally put the Beavers on the board. The visitors took that 3-1 lead into the second eight minutes of action.
Patric Eck got the Beavers within a goal with 6:53 left until halftime. However, the visitors proceeded to score six of the next eight goals as they took a 9-4 advantage at the midway point in the contest.

Pomona-Pitzer limited the Beavers to just one goal in each of the last two periods while scoring a total of nine goals in the final 16 minutes in grabbing the win.
Phillip Clayman and Travis Larsen each had a team best four goals to pace the Sagehens attack.
Brian Penserini tallied his sixth hat trick of the season for the Beavers.
Senior Night for the Beavers is Wednesday evening when they face-off against the University of Redlands at 7 p.m.
