Beav's Finish in 7th Place at SCIAC's
The Caltech men defeated the University of La Verne yesterday by a score of 5-4 to capture 7th place in the 2009 SCIAC Men's Tennis Tournament. "It was epic and a great moment for senior, Rico Chu" exclaimed Coach Mandy Gamble. Chu and his doubles partner Sam Barnett were victorious in their match over the host Leos, however the Beavers #2 and #3 doubles were not so fortunate thus taking the competition into the singles portion down 1-2. Chu's singles match was ultimately tied at 4-4 when Rico battled back after losing his first set in singles to win his match in the 3rd set and sealed the victory and 7th place in the tourney for Caltech.
