NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 31, 2018) – The Caltech men's and women's swim & dive teams have been recognized as College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Teams for a second consecutive year under Head Coach Paul Hughes.
The CSCAA Scholar All-America program recognizes teams across all three NCAA division and the NAIA which have compiled a minimum 3.0 grade-point average over each semester of the academic calendar. The men's team pulled together an outstanding 3.67 GPA to match last year's cumulative total and once again ranked third in all of Division III, trailing only Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.70) and Macalester College (3.77), which tied Drexel University for second in the entire nation. The women's team, meanwhile put forth a solid 3.50 GPA in its own right.
Hughes and the Beavers are set to travel to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday, Feb. 3 to meet the Sagehens in addition to California Lutheran University in the program's final double-dual meet of the season.
