Caltech Athletics : Senior, Bryan Hires Reaches 1000-point Milestone

February 18, 2008 - Bryan Hires scored his 1000th career point against the University of La Verne on Saturday night. In Caltech's second overtime contest in 2 weeks, Bryan scored 28 points (9/15 from the field, 10/11 from the free throw line) in addition to 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The 6'- 6" senior center from Columbus, IN scored the milestone basket with 3:15 remaining in regulation on an inside shot. Bryan has been a starter and frontcourt stalwart for the Beavers since his arrival to our campus 4 years ago. Currently Bryan is the second leading scorer in SCIAC and leads the conference in free throws attempted with 167; the next highest amount of attempts is 100. He ranks 10th in free throw percentage at 70%.
