Weather Cooperates and Beavs Host Golden Eagles
With the unusually wet season this winter in otherwise Sunny SoCal, the Beavers have had to cancel several practices and a few games. Sunday, 2/15 offered some clear skies and an opportunity for Caltech to host La Sierra University for a single game. The two teams went into the match-up each in search of their first win on the young 2009 season and the Beav's did not disappoint playing a tight game for 5 innings finding themselves tied 2-2 in the 5th inning. Unfortunately the visitors had a little too much offense and put up 10 more runs to better the Beavers by a final score of 12-5. "We really needed to play, with SCIAC starting next week" commented Coach D'Auria, "our youg team is hungry and played very hard".
Next up for Caltech Baseball is the SCIAC opener with a home game versus Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday 2/20 at 2:30pm and then a twinbill at CMS on Saturday, 2/21 at 11am and 3pm.
