SCIAC Shutout Streak Reaches Five

Kingsmen improve road record to 7-1

PASADENA, Calif. – The California Lutheran University men’s soccer team earned its fifth consecutive conference shut out on the road Saturday afternoon defeating Caltech, 6-0. CLU midfielder Steffen Isetorp scored the game winner just over eight minutes into regulation and the defense allowed just two shots in full time.

Junior Josh Moskowitz scored a pair of first half goals within a 30 second period while Pedro Gonzalez scored his first goal of the season to take a four goal halftime advantage.

A Caltech (0-12-1, 0-10 SCIAC) own goal midway through the second half and a Brandon Higa score with just over eight minutes remaining capped the scoring.

Beaver goalkeeper Grayson Chadwick made 17 saves in goal, while CLU’s Chris Thompson and Matt Railla combined for the shutout victory.

Cal Lutheran (12-3, 9-1 SCIAC) will return home to face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Wednesday, October 17 at 4pm. The Kingsmen remain tied atop the conference standings with the University of Redlands (12-2, 9-1 SCIAC) and will face each other in Redlands on Saturday, October 20 at 7 pm.
