Caltech Tennis Teams Receive Academic Accolades
PASADENA, Calif. – Both the men’s and women’s
tennis teams for Caltech were recognized with all-academic honors
from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
All-Academic honors are handed out to teams with a collective GPA
over 3.2 and to individuals with a GPA over 3.5 who won varsity
letters and were enrolled for at least two semesters at their
institution.
This is the fourth consecutive year, and the fifth year out of six
that the men’s team has been honored with ITA All-Academic
Honors. Every member of the 15 member team had a GPA
above 3.0 and the team as a whole sported a 3.6 GPA.
The women’s tennis team was recognized for the fourth year
out of the past six and the second straight season. The 14
members of the women’s team had a combined GPA of 3.4.
Nineteen Caltech student-athletes were named to the ITA
All-Academic Honors squad. Fred Zhao was named to the team
for the fourth consecutive season. Anish Agarwal, Brian Kim,
Alex Runkel, Cici Li, and Alison Parisian all made the team for the
third straight year. Jeff Shen, Michelle Tang, Jessica Yeung,
and Caroline Yu all secured their second straight appearance on the
ITA All-Academic List.
