MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Overview
The mission of the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation is to develop the physical, social, and emotional skills of Caltech students necessary for the cultivation of a sound mind in a sound body. The Department seeks to encourage participation in a balanced program of individual and group activities through a variety of intercollegiate, physical education, club, intramural, and informal recreation activities intended to meet the needs of all members of the community.
Our facilities will be completely closed five days each year: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.
Membership Process
1. Create your own online account at http://activenet.active.com/caltechaper
2. Come to the Braun Athletic Center between 8am-6pm Monday – Friday to finish the membership process
NOTE: Before we issue you a membership, we will need to verify your affiliation with Caltech. You will need to bring one of the following:
- JPL Badge # (JPL Retirees can call the retiree benefits line @ 818-354-2965 to obtain your badge #)
- Alumni Card with Alumni #
- Associate Card with Associate #
- Caltech ID #
- Polytechnic School Faculty/Staff card
- Huntington Library Staff card
- Pasadena / San Marino residents – Confirmation of local address & a Caltech affiliate sponsor (name and ID#)

CALTECH RECREATION PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES
- Proof of eligibility required at time of registration
- Membership cards are non-transferable
- Family memberships are valid for eligible members, their spouse and up to two dependents.
- Dependent children are considered to be those 18-23 years of age and unmarried
- Children age five and younger are not charged.
- All children 17 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times
- NO REFUNDS
Caltech reserves the right to limit facility use in cases where facility maintainence is underway.
GUEST POLICIES
- The guest fee is $5 per guest per visit
- Any member with unrestricted access may bring up to two guests per visit. Guest and host are required to enter and leave the facility together.
- A sponsored guest pass is available for stays over 5 days.
